It goes without saying that Olly Murs has worked relentlessly since being the runner up on the X Factor. Now co-hosting Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack, Olly Murs has somehow found the time to tour non-stop and release a second outstanding album, that’s of course on top of appearing in various music videos and releasing several brilliant singles.

Thankfully, his latest album entitled ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ has had Jolly Olly go back to his classic soul roots which we first witnessed way back in 2009’s X Factor performances. Just what we need now that the British pop scene is falling into an endless spawn of artists who desperately try to sound alike. With his completely fresh and unique sound, Olly Murs well and truly deserves his place in the charts. Gone are the days of the cheesy and dated image that many big name talent show winners had (Hello Steve Brookstein) and in their place are great acts like Olly!

If you thought ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ was upbeat and catchy, just wait until you hear some of the stunning ballads that appear on the album and really show off the voice Olly Murs is so famous for. Songs such as ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ and ‘Tell the World’ have that gorgeous reggae feel to them, whereas tracks such as ‘Anywhere Else’ and ‘On My Cloud’ have that Will Young, pop feel to them. Needless to say, ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ has a fair few tracks embedded on it which you can already predict will be chart toppers!

So if you like a little variation in your music then Olly Murs will definitely please you. You’ll go from tasty 50’s saxophones to easy on the ears reggae, all within one album! Not just for fans of the X-factor, Mr. Murs has the talent to appeal to a much wider audience and should definitely be given the credit he is due for sheer talent.
