Adele – Hammersmith Apollo, London

9.0 10 Excellent

If ever there was a female artist destined for greatness it’s definitely Adele! Her flawless singing and lovely personality prove that you don’t need to be a size six and dressed half naked to almost sell out a venue. This was evident last night as the Hammersmith Apollo was full to the brim with Adele fans eagerly waiting to sing along to some of the best songs we’ve heard in a very long time!

After a grueling two hours spent waiting patiently throughout support acts Amos Lee and The Civil Wars, Adele graced us with her presence. She made her entrance cast as a silhouette against a brightly lit white backdrop and was then greeted with adoration from her fans as she took to the stage singing ‘Hometown Glory’. After the song ended she told the crowd that we all looked “stunning” and how she was scared about singing but should have known that we’d come to support her.

Adele touchingly dedicated the song ‘Make You Feel My Love’ to the legend that will always be remembered, Amy Winehouse. Of course the show wasn’t all about tears and tissues, Adele made us howl with laughter when she began to dance like Beyonce!

Though Adele stated that performing at the Hammersmith Apollo was like a dream come true, I am sure that I’m not alone when I say the feeling was mutual! Her witty jokes in that beautiful “Landan” accent of hers, combined with her absolutely magnificent singing made it one of the best gigs Hammersmith has ever seen. Without a shadow of a doubt the highlight of the show was ‘Someone like you’ which we all eagerly anticipated and sang along to!

If you are lucky enough to be in possession of a ticket to see the rest of her tour then I assure you that you are in for one of the best times of your life! I loved it!!
