If ever there was a pop star we all can’t help but simply adore, no matter how provocative and inappropriate she becomes – it’s Katy Perry! So of course when she played live at the O2 Arena on the 15th of October, she definitely failed to disappoint.
The setting could only be described as a Willy Wonka dream as the sassy pop princess dazzled us with her constant costume changes and charming personality. Katy even confessed her love for London, before going on to proclaim her undying love for beans on toast – yummy!
Her performance of Hummingbird Heartbeat was absolutely incredible, along with the fantastic Teenage Dream which was complimented well with extraordinary backing dancers.
Hot ‘n’ Cold saw the most multiple costume changes of all as she magically managed to go from some sort of Queen of Hearts robe to a gorgeous yellow dress, before changing into a pretty little pink dress.
Of course when things slowed down during an acoustic Thinking of You, we all couldn’t help but fall in love with her all over again – especially after she broke out with Adele’s Someone Like You, in true London style!
The highlight of the night has to be the incredible performance of I kissed a Girl. Pretty much everyone sang along as she sang with perfection before sliding under the guitarists legs during a little solo.
The fantastic night ended with a pumped up performance of Firework which was made even better with the backing dancers busting out some tremendous back flips.
Overall, it was a night that I shall always remember. Katy’s alluring personality and captivating performance left me somewhat star-struck and hungry for more.
