Today MP’s will be presented with The Live Music Bill. This Bill is requesting that smaller live music venues can put on gigs without having hold an entertainment licence. At present, smaller venues have to adhere to numerous red-tape rules which include form filling and paying high fees just to host live music.
The Bill has been 3 years in the making, but hopes could be dashed if less than 100 MP’s turn up today, as it would mean the Bill will not be debated. If passed, it could see a huge rise in the number of venues deciding to put on shows. That can only mean good news for the UK gigger!
Fingers crossed…You can find out more on the UK Music website.
