Your Weekly Music News Round-up

Hello peeps, so this week sees the internet leak of Tony Bennett’s and Lady Gaga’s revamp of the original 1930’s song entitled ‘Lady Is a Tramp’. Ditching the usual electro-pop Lady Gaga is renowned for, she pairs with Tony Bennett to create a version of the song which is just as jazzy and 1930’s sounding as the original! The song is to be released on Tony Bennett’s upcoming album entitled ‘Duets II’ which features the likes of Michael Bublé, Norah Jones and even the late and great Amy Winehouse!

In other news, Noel Gallagher admits that the songs to be featured on his upcoming album ‘High Flying Birds’ would never have been caught dead on an Oasis album! He says that Oasis were just “stadium rock music” and what he is doing now is completely different and allows him to take things at his own pace. It will definitely be interesting to see this completely new style Noel talks of.

Elsewhere in the stratosphere we have seen The Eastpak Antidote Tour of 2011 UK tour kick off. Starting with Leeds on Monday, then it moved to Manchester on Tuesday and it is set to continue moving south to Nottingham and then London. The tour features the musical talents of A Day to Remember, August Burns Red and The Ghost Inside. The thumping double bass of August Burns Red combined with the melodic and peaceful singing of A Day To Remember make this tour something not to be missed by their adoring fans! Songs ‘White Washed’, ‘My Life for Hire’ and ‘The Brave’ is just a taste of what has already been featured throughout the tour and there can only be more to come!

Last but not least, as of 6pm on Sunday, front man Luke Pritchard of The Kooks will be taking over the reigns at XFM to talk music and play some of his favourite songs, so if you’re a fan make sure you tune in to that!

Untill next week, get out to those gigs!
