Fresh from supporting slots with Bruce Springsteen and Kasabian, Hunter & The Bear haven’t been short of potential fans to showcase their material to.
And with the supply of punters comes the demand for music, so it’s no surprise that the trio’s debut single, “Forest On The Hill”, is so hotly anticipated by fans.
The opening of the single, reminiscent of early Mumford and Sons, is an acoustic melody that instantly draws in the listener and is perfect for the popular folk element that seems to dominate the current music scene.
The harmonies in the chorus are intricately layered and practically perfect. Lead singer Will’s gravelly tones juxtaposed with Jimmy’s and Josh’s backing vocals add a layer of sharpness and spirituality to the track. It’s this that leads me to listen to the track over and again, consistently in awe of the chorus which is, without a doubt, the stand out element of “Forest On The Hill”.[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/102422204″ comments=”true” auto_play=”false” color=”ff7700″ width=”100%” height=”81″]
